Stephanie Boyd

Registered Psychotherapist and Physiotherapist

Life can be difficult sometimes.  When challenges arise, it can be helpful to have someone to talk to and offer perspective and guidance for positive change. If you are having difficulties coping with stress, anxiety, grief, loss, or a big life transition, such as a relationship or job loss, I am here to help.  I see children, teens, and adults in my practice.

If you are struggling after a loss, I would be happy to help. We all grieve. People we love die, we lose jobs, and sometimes we suffer loss or changes in relationships.  We grieve after suffering an illness or disability. It can be lonely, and having someone to help guide you can make the journey easier.

Are you providing care for someone you love? Caring for a loved one is both rewarding and challenging. In addition to love, caregiving may involve feelings of loss, grief, and fear. As a health care provider and as a caregiver, I understand the toll caring for a loved one can take on family members and have helped families navigate illness and disability for over 30 years. I am available to assist with maintaining your capacity to help while understanding how to meet your own needs.

Safe, Welcoming, and Holistic Care

I have over 30 years of experience as a health care provider working with children and teens, including those with special needs. I understand the stress experienced by kids and their families when faced with illness or disability. I know how difficult it can be to be a parent, especially during the teen years. If you could use someone to talk to who can help you find perspective on how to raise awesome adults while surviving and thriving yourself, I would love to meet you.

My clinical approach is varied and centred on the needs of each client. Part of my approach includes equine and canine-assisted psychotherapy. My therapy dog, Annie Oakley, works with me in the office. I believe that our bodies, minds, and emotions are all connected, and I understand how exploring movement in connection with emotion can be valuable.  Some clients, especially kids, find it easier to communicate through music, art, story, and motion. These modalities are an important part of what I do. My office is equipped with a climber, swings, a giant bean bag chair, a kettle, and a warm cup of tea. My goal is to offer diverse therapy options in a comfortable environment.

I am committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment to everyone, including individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ and their families.

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you.

All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbours — in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver.
